This book was required for one of my master's courses, and I found that although the book explained many of the topics in a thorough, yet clear and concise manner; there were several topics that were written very poorly. It almost seemed as though there were a couple of key phrases or sentences missing from each pharagraph, and without them, it was incredibly difficult (and sometimes even impossible) to learn anything about that particular topic from the book. With all of this said, I was of course able to just go onto the internet and find other sources to teach myself about the "problem" topics. So with a little extra time and effort, I was ultimately able to learn what I needed to. It just obviously would have been nice if I had been able to get what I needed from the book. So overall, it's a good book, but based on my experiences, I would just warn you to be prepared to supplement your learning of certain topics with online sources, other texts, etc.
