I tutor the SAT for a living and I have done so since 2008. To be blunt, I'm writing this review to try to talk you out of buying this book. In fact, I really think it's disingenuous of companies like the Princeton Review to offer SAT practice tests. Why? The tests are different enough from the real SAT to screw you up - plus, there are so many real SATs available.

Real SATs are extremely carefully written and standardized. Though the tests in this book LOOK like SATs to the casual observer, when I look at them I cringe. There are myriad subtle differences between these and the real test: many questions are too simple or straightforward, particularly in the Critical Reading and Writing sections. Math questions are a little better, but they're all over the place, too. Other questions are inconsistent: more than one answer choice could be argued for, concepts are tested that the real SAT won't, etc.

The Official Guide to the SAT, published by the College Board, has ten real tests, and there are three more online that you can find for free. If you run out of those, you can buy the College Board's online course which has ten more. Also, the College Board has FREE answer explanations to all ten tests in the Official Guide online [...] In light of this, there is no reason I can think of to buy this book or ANY third party book merely offering practice tests. You might as well practice for your Spanish final by studying Italian.

This can prepare my son for the SAT. It is very helpful and beneficial; we don't need any tutor anymore. Also very cheap.
