This book is a stand out as the best equine internal medicine text. Throughout the book the authors consistently review the pathophysiology involved, the evidence currently available and to a lesser degree their own personal experience. This is in stark contrast to many books which are written in the format of "I do it therefore ...". The emphasis on pathophysiology prompts understanding not just regurgitation while the presentation of evidence follows the direction of the profession towards evidence based medicine.By Dip ACVIM
The book is presented as a comprehensive resource and does not work so well as a quick look up text as it can be difficult to find specifics in a hurry. However, for the purpose of indepth study and understanding of equine medicine the book is an excellent resource.
I am a 4th year vet student and I have found this book very helpful with my clinical cases. There is a great deal of information and goes more indepth then one might need for average cases. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone doing clinical work with advanced cases in equine medicine.By J. Schmidt
