Of course every nursing program has a required or recommended drug guide for everyone in the program to purchase... our program selected a reputable, yet not so great drug guide that left me needing help and this one is everything that one wasn't but should have been! The funny part is, even though our program recommends that other one, this is the one they keep in the nursing skills lab...!... It has several great appendices and unlike with our recommended drug guide, this one is setup so that you can find both generic and brand name rather than having to look the med up by its generic name or classification.

I was impressed with this Drug Guide. The medications are in alphabetical (vs classifications) but by their generic name (from what our instructor states NCLEX is no longer using brand name meds). It is easy to follow, I like that it includes nrsg guidelines & family/pt teaching. I haven't purchased a drug guide since '09 but this version does not include "side effects" it only provides "adverse reactions". I'm happy with it either way. I'd buy it again.
