This book is required reading for a health informatics class I'm taking. I decided to get this book via the kindle due to two reasons. The first, it is cheaper than the hardcover edition. The second reason is because the class had already started before I bought this book, I needed it immediately and of course this is an instant download. I do not own a Kindle, but I downloaded the free Kindle App for my Mac. It is absolutely easy on the eyes to read, and the font is great. BUT, and this is a BIG BUT, (and the reason that I did not give it 5 stars), the Kindle edition DOES NOT HAVE PAGE NUMBERS that correspond to the hardcover edition : ( What a bummer. I'll just have to have a work-around when the instructor directs us to a particular place in the book, but for the large price, page numbers should have been mandatory. Absolutely Ridiculous. The content, however, is great for learning this subject.By samir
Someone who wants to gain deep knowledge of the field of medical informatics -- a hot topic these days -- would do well to read this book. Thorough, well-written, insightful, and authored/edited by one of the founders of the field, I believe that this book belongs on the shelf of any practitioner.By a_guy_in_boston
