In 24 hours there have been 5 new 5 star reviews by people that have reviewed nothing else. This has made me really doubt this product and the integrity of Dr. Fischer. It looks easy to read on first glance but I noticed fairly quickly that there are a lot of things missing (like for starters, all of biostats). I just randomly wanted to look up DVT/PE prophylaxis in pregnancy (a common ob topic) to see if it would be different than non-pregnant (as in DO NOT USE WARFARIN)... and it does not make any mention of this. Bottom line, be vary careful in solely relying on this book and the reviews on amazon for it.By reviewer
Like all things on amazon, i buy items based on reviews. I was surprised this book had better reviews than First Aid, as I lived by first aid for Step 1 and its many other clerkship-specific books. Regardless, I figured it was worth a shot.By JP
This book is useless because it serves no purpose for step2 studying. It's lacking in all areas. It's brevity on topics makes me question what they were thinking when it was composed. I often couldn't find supplemental info on drugs, syndromes and diseases i found difficult on uworld. On top of that, a lot of the information it did have was extremely obvious or just plain silly. For ex, a box on one page said, in response to uterine atony, "a = without, tony = tone." Wow! Or, may favorite, "uterine rupture means there's a whole in the uterus." OH my, now it makes sense! Thanks for clarifying. It also lacks useful memorization tools that First Aid offers.
Overall, I'm very disappointed with this book. I stopped using it after a few weeks. Based on my scores in school, I can unequivocally say this book will not help you master anything.
